William Schroeder established W.R. Schroeder Interiors in 2009 after a decade of experience working with several well-known Boston design firms, including the renowned designer Roger Lussier. William also oversaw several complete renovations of historic properties while working as a project manager at the award-winning Carter & Company. He also managed the textiles department of Webster & Company at Boston’s Innovation and Design Building. William earned his undergraduate degree in art history and master’s degree in arts administration from Boston University. His background in art history has given him a unique perspective for design and gives his interiors a sense of historical importance.

W.R. Schroeder Interiors offers a variety of services to meet clients’ needs. William will execute full scale project management on existing and new

construction projects and work from on-site measurements and architectural plans to create furniture layouts and design schemes, including kitchen and bathroom design. Other services include custom furniture design, space planning, art and antique acquisition, and color consultation.

Over the course of his career, William has developed close relationships with the finest vendors and sources in the industry. His firm grasp on the art and antiques market allows him to offer clients the opportunity to acquire unique objects with a history. William works with art and antiques dealers, exclusive vendors, and artisans to ensure a customized aesthetic for his clients.

William believes in a close, working relationship and encourages his clients to be involved with the design process, asking questions and sharing their vision, ideas and inspiration.

Philosophy

W. R. Schroeder’s timeless interiors are grounded in classicism and luxury.
His style is characterized by a harmony between traditional and contemporary tastes.

William strives to create custom-tailored interiors for his clients that reflect their personal taste and individuality. He believes in working closely with each client and sharing ideas to articulate their vision of the space. William often mixes classic and contemporary elements to create harmonious spaces that reflect a timeless style. Sumptuous fabrics are often used unexpectedly to achieve richness in a casual way. Texture and thoughtful use of color are important considerations that are incorporated into every W.R. Schroeder Interiors project.

William believes that objects tell a story and become alive in their environment. His design philosophy is that truly beautiful design is often intangible and can only be articulated through the sum of its parts. It is for this reason that art and accessories are at the heart of William’s aesthetic. In all of his interiors, William highlights decorative objects and art to create luminous spaces.
